An Interactive Yoga Travel Story for Kids

I have written an interactive yoga travel story for kids, that invites kids to move their bodies right from the very first page. This free digital book created on Elementari takes kids on an adventure to the ocean and back again for a relaxing finish.

When it comes to doing yoga with kids, traditional moves are not always called what they are, but rather built into an element of play. For example, pretending to ride in a car without actually sitting will have them in chair pose, and acting out riding on a surfboard will have them close to a Warrior 2 position.

Enjoy reading and playing the story below alongside your child. Give yourself permission to be silly and young again! Look for elements of the story that move and prompt clicking for more action. I have even recorded a soothing version of my voice near the end as a way to calm your minds, making this a perfect nap or bedtime story.

Elementari is an online platform where anyone can learn to create stories with basic coding. The site is full of beautiful illustrations from artists and compositions from musicians who are credited when the stories are published. It’s a wonderful interface for students and teachers as well. Elementari is currently offering free premium accounts, during the current COVID-19 situation, to parents and teachers to aid in helping students and teachers to connect, create, and learn virtually. Give it a try yourself! Request premium access here.

In addition to being a writer and educator, I have been teaching yoga and fitness. You can follow along for with my yoga, exercise and health postings at PhoenixMoments on Instagram.
