Roamancing San Francisco

Fisherman’s Wharf, as photographed by Lori Yearwood

In a few days I will be off Roamancing San Francisco for a week and a half. It’s my first trip to the States in years and I can’t wait. I’ve never been to San Francisco and along with classic tourist spots like the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf, I’ll also be attending my first music festival, Outside Lands.

I’ll be staying with a friend in San Fran, so luckily I’ve got my own personal tour guide. He says he has a gigantic list of things for us to do, but here’s my own to-do list for Roamancing San Francisco:

  • Golden Gate Bridge
  • Fisherman’s Wharf
  • Pier 39
  • Lombard Street
  • The Cliff House – I saw this once on a postcard and added it to my San Francisco list. That’s how everyone decides where to visit, right?
  • Union Square
  • Alamo Square
  • The Beat Museum – for every hipster and Kerouac fan
  • Ferry Building
  • Exploratorium & Palace of Fine Arts
  • Berkeley campus – Luckily, my friend is an alumni of Berkeley and can’t wait to show me his favourite spots around campus
  • Sausalito
I’ll be updating my adventures along the way so check back for blog posts (to see if I actually finish everything on this list!) or follow along on twitter with #RoamancingSF. If you have any suggestions on places to visit or things to do in the San Francisco area, please leave a comment below!

Can’t wait to see what you publish after the festival as I’ll be in San Fran next month. Have fun!
