Where to Stay in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and the Acadian Shores

To aid travellers in finding accommodations and where to stay in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, and the Acadian Shores, we have put together this guide of accommodations that our travellers have stayed at in the area and feel comfortable in recommending.

Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and the surrounding Acadian Shores encompasses the Southwestern tip of the Province of Nova Scotia in Canada. Surrounded by vast expanses of green and the deep blue sea, this culturally significant region is influenced by the Mi’kmaq (Wasoqopa’q First Nation), along with settlers from France (the Acadians) and England, and Black Loyalists. This creates a land rich in human history, inviting visitors to learn about the different cultures that shaped this area of Nova Scotia, to converse in different languages and study in French, and enjoy the rich culinary scene that those cultural influences bring. All of this to compliment your days of exploring off the beaten path, strolling the beaches, exploring at low tides, getting out on the water, discovering the dark sky preserve, and of course, dining on freshly caught seafood.

A dinner of clam rappie pie, a salad of local greens and fresh strawberries, and Corberrie Cider on Mavillette Beach.

Having enjoyed the charms gem of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and the surrounding Acadian Shores, here are our travellers current picks of where to stay. We will update these accommodations over time, as we have new experiences in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and the surrounding Acadian Shores.

Mavillette Beach Lodge was exactly the gentle rest, recover and reset that I needed after a winter of caregiving. I spent a week in their a-frame cottage, while marking student papers and needing reliable internet. While I did have to work, the rest of my days involved long walks on Mavillette Beach at low tide, watching the surfers, visits to Comeau’s Farm Market, experimenting with new recipes with local seafood and produce, meals at nearby eateries and walks with new friends, and a glass of local Corberrie cider with sunsets on the beach . This was exactly the restorative retreat that I needed.
